Hermes GPE extends international presence
Hermes GPE LLP (Hermes GPE), the private markets investor, today announces the extension of its international presence through the creation of new offices in Boston and Singapore in the coming months.
The Boston office will be led by Delaney Brown, Hermes GPE’s Head of the Americas, who was previously based in London. The Hermes GPE team has been investing in the US on behalf of its clients since 1996 and currently manages over $1.0bn in US-based assets. Delaney Brown, Hermes GPE’s Head of the Americas, commented: “The decision to consolidate our position with a physical presence in the US demonstrates our continuing commitment to this major private equity market, which represents a significant element of our clients’ portfolios. We expect to be able to capitalise more fully on the exciting co-investment opportunities we are seeing in the US.” Singapore will form the new hub for Hermes GPE’s team and operations in Asia.
The Hermes GPE team has been active in this region for over a decade, with current investments of over $600m in more than 30 private equity funds, private infrastructure funds and co-investments. The office will be headed by Saki Georgiadis who is succeeding Pavan A. Gupte as Hermes GPE’s Head of Asia. Saki Georgiadis, who has been part of the Hermes GPE team since 2005, will be responsible for all manager relationships in Asia and for coordinating the sourcing, due diligence and monitoring of all Asian investments. Saki Georgiadis, Hermes GPE’s Head of Asia, commented: “This important step in our plans represents a significant opportunity to build even closer relationships with our General Partners and improve our coverage of this rapidly evolving market for the benefit of our clients.” Hermes GPE’s senior private equity investment team is completed by Simon Moss, Head of Europe, who will continue to be based in London. All three offices will report directly to Alan MacKay, Chief Executive of Hermes GPE, and Peter Gale, Chief Investment Officer. Alan MacKay, Chief Executive of Hermes GPE, commented: “This extended platform will enable our investment teams to spend less time in the air and more time on the ground, in the markets. Hermes GPE is now better positioned than ever to secure the best opportunities for our institutional clients in global private equity and infrastructure.”
